I can't believe school is already back in full swing. And, I can't believe that I have a 1st grader. Where does the time go? It seems like a blur since we first brought our oldest boy home. And, life hasn't stopped since. Chase is such an amazingly smart little boy ... He loves to read and is a very good student. I'm so proud of him! He changed schools this year ... After spending two years at a Montessori school, we decided (at his request) to give our neighborhood school a try. He has adjusted to a new school so well. 1st grade has been a hard adjustment for me though ... He now goes to school five full days ... He was able to go to Kindergarten just four full days, so we still had three days together. I sure enjoy spending time with him and miss him when he's gone.
Luckily (I suppose ... Just teasin'), I still have his two younger brothers to keep me distracted. Austin is a strong-willed, spirited little boy ... We found out when Austin was 16-months old that he is deaf. That was July 2007. He received his first Cochlear Implant in November 2007 and his second Cochlear Implant in April 2008 and hasn't stopped since. Austin also has severe Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Hyperopia (far-sightedness) as well as some Sensory Integration issues for which he has been seeing an Occupational Therapist twice a week since December 2008. But, none of this stops him. He is ornary and full of life! He will go back to preschool on Monday. And, then there's Brady ... My dramatic middle child who is a love bug. He still likes to kiss and hug his Mom and I wouldn't trade his kisses and hugs for anything! He will turn 5 in October, so is doing another year of preschool at the Montessori school that he attended last year. It amazes me that all his teachers (at school, at swimming lessons and at church) tell us how quiet he is because he is anything but that at home. He is full of emotion!
While Brady and Austin fight like crazy, I know they love eachother dearly ... It just makes me crazy some days. But, life is never dull around the Luther house.
More to come soon ...
